Welcome to Ashke Rabbitry

Ashke is an A.R.B.A. Registered Rabbitry located in Alberta, Canada.

The name of our rabbitry comes from the Velgarth (Valdemar) series of books written by my favourite author, Mercedes Lackey. The word "ashke" means "beloved" in the tongue of the Hawkbrothers. Most of our rabbits are given a name of a character from this series. We would like to thank Ms. Lackey for giving us permission to use her books in this manner. Our main breed is Rex, with castor, black otter, black, blue and tricolors. We enjoy the calm Rex temperament and fabulous fur.

Our second breed is Polish, which are ideal show animals for our children. The Polish are very small rabbits, not exceeding 3.5 pounds and their temperament is fabulous. We would like to thank Kathy Mannweiller of Just Hoppin Rabbitry and Ingrid Nitsch of MG Rabbitry in Surrey for helping us get a great start with this breed.
